The Back to School Educational Initiative (BASEI), in collaboration with some civic society organizations, held a strategic meeting with the 12 ward councilors of Kaduna North Local Government at the council chambers.

The BASEI team equally held a meeting with the Chairman of Kaduna North Local Government, who equally welcomed the Govtracka initiative. He pledged his full support and commitment to work with BASEI and civic partners to ensure that the platform achieves its goal of enhancing inclusive governance and building greater trust between citizens and their leaders.
The councilors warmly welcomed the idea and pledged their commitment to work with BASEI in ensuring effective adoption of the Govtracka platform for improved service delivery and good governance.
During the meeting, Aminu Salihu, IT Officer of BASEI, introduced “Govtracka”, a new digital governance inclusive platform supported by CIVICUS. The innovative platform is designed to directly connect citizens with their local government, enabling them to:
Suggest and recommend community projects.
Track projects in real-time.
Report rising issues in their communities.
This initiative aims to promote transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in the governance of Kaduna North.
With this collaboration, Kaduna North is taking a bold and progressive step toward strengthening inclusive Digital governance and building stronger trust between citizens and their leaders.
Shifting away from traditional channels of communication which make it a closed world to a global village where governments can publicize their impactful projects in real time, bridge the gap that disconnects and enable citizens to participate in Governance where they easily report issues affecting them without any restrictions.
