Back to School Educational Initiative in collaboration with Northern Nigerian Human Rights Advocates (NONIHRA) observed International Human Rights Day on December 10th 2022, in Kaduna with young girls and women.

As part of the major outcomes are the presence of Dr. Aminu from Amnesty International who discussed intensively on the importance of the historic Day as marked internationally on December 10 and major human rights issues which awakened the consciousness of the participants.

Miss. Felitia from Village Debbo care initiative (vd_care) took the participants through Gender Based Violence issues and encouraged them to resist any form of abuse.

In their separates remarks, the Executive Director and Programs Coordinator of Back To School Educational Initiative, Sulaiman Zakirai and Abdul Ahmed respectively lament on how human rights abuses especially rape is becoming rampant in our society and urged young girls to be resilient and report any case of sexual abuse. Similarly, the girls were advice to demand for their rights of access to quality education, health care and social justice within the confine of their religion.
