Day 1 of our Two-Day Advocacy Training on Access to Education for Vulnerable Students in Kaduna State was a success!

Hosted by Global Peace Foundation Nigeria in collaboration with Back to School Educational Initiative and supported by Rise Up, the event took place at NUT End Well Conference Hotel in Kaduna. Today’s sessions focused on the critical need for equitable access to education, particularly for vulnerable girls in Kaduna.

We kicked off with impactful presentations on Advocating for Equitable Access to Education for Vulnerable Girls in Kaduna State and Introduction to Advocacy Principles and Methods, emphasizing the importance of advocacy in promoting girls’ education.

We were honored by the presence of key dignitaries and policymakers, including:

– Hon. Mahmud Lawal Ismail, Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Kaduna State House of Assembly, who pledged his support for our cause. Hon. Ismail expressed his commitment to champion legislation to make SSCE examination fees mandatory for the government to cover for female students, a significant stride for inclusive education!

– Sheikh Halliru Maraya, Northern Coordinator, Global Peace Foundation.

– Abbas Shehu from the Ministry of Education.

– Bar. Rebecca Sako John from the Kaduna State Peace Commission.

A heartfelt thank you to our supporters and partners, especially Rise Up, for joining us on this journey to make education accessible for every child.
